Here’s our latest WordPress website design and build for a small local business based in Wells, Somerset. Oohlalalampshades create bespoke lampshades custom made to their customers specification. They also sell pre-made lampshades from the website and also sell from a number of retailers within Somerset (Yeovil and Wells) and Gloucestershire (Thornbury).
The brief was to design and build a simple e-commerce WordPress website that reflects the bespoke nature of the business. First off we provided the client with a number of wireframes to establish layouts for each unique page. Once the wireframes were approved we moved on to the visual stage. This involved creating a number of hi-resolution page mock-ups to establish the ‘look and feel’ by utilising their fantastic images and by creating a new colour palette. Several different typefaces were experimented with. We finally settled on one that tied together the hand-crafted business model while also being clean and easy to read.
The end result is an easily navigable website that’s easy to purchase from. It is viewable across multiple devices and represents the brands custom made proposition by carefully selecting the appropriate fonts and colours. It is also the subject of an ultimate client response!

The Logo design
We also had the pleasure of creating and designing their logo. The design reflects a popular pattern often chosen by customers, cleverly made into the shape of a lampshade. It perfectly communicates the company’s creativity and bespoke products.
