Is your website performing as well as it could be?

We will carry out a free website analysis for your specified website which can highlight any issues that are holding your website back from being as successful as it could be. Lots of things can determine a bad user experience.
Below are what we will check your website for and report on.

What we will test.

1. Accessibility

How accessible the website is to mobile and disabled users.

URL format

Does the website use a readable URL format? E.g. www.example.com/about-us/ instead of www.example.com/asbff2i7r4f/

This is important because it allows users and search engines (such as Google) to easily tell what each page is.

Page titles

Do all pages use page titles/headings appropriately?

Page titles appear in search results and at the top of the browser’s window when visiting the site. This is important as it allows visitors and search engines to summarise the content of webpages quickly.

Alt tags

Do all images have alt tags?

The alt attribute provides alternative information for an image if a user for some reason cannot view it (because of slow connection, an error, or if the user is visually impaired and uses a screen reader). It also helps search engines (such as Google) to identify what the image is.

Responsive design

Is the website layout optimised for viewing on a mobile phone or a table?

On average Mobile traffic accounts for just over 50% of all web traffic nowadays so it is important that websites are optimised for these smaller screen devices as well as more traditional devices.

Meta tags

Do all pages include meta tags?

Meta data is important as it appears on Google’s search result pages and influences where your website will appear in search results.

2. Technology

How well built the website is.

Server redirects

Does the website follows the best practice of using a permanent (HTTP 301) redirect from http://example.com to http://www.example.com?

Some users always put www. When entering a website URL and others do not so it is important that your server redirects to the correct address regardless of what a user has chosen to enter.

GZIP Encoding

Does the website compress components using GZIP encoding?

This is important because it reduces the loading time of a web page.

Minify Javascript and CSS

Does the website serve compressed Javascript and CSS files?

This is important because it reduces the loading time of a web page.

Images

Are the image files optimised and compressed to be as small as possible?

This is important for ensuring that your website loads as fast as possible.

Caching

Does the website have a caching system in place?

This is important for ensuring that your website loads as fast as possible and reduces stress on the server during areas of peak activity.
